NEWBORN PORTRAITS
There is something special about newborn photography and photographing a newborn baby. It is one of the happiest times in a family’s life and I get to be a part of it! Every newborn baby is different and I love getting to know them and documenting all the little details of their first moments with their family. My newborn photography sessions are quiet, personal and very special. During my newobrn photography sessions with infants, I am very patient and take my time in working with the baby. Every pose, hand and foot placement, blanket and prop are well thought out.
While I work with the baby I get to also talk with the parents and get to know them….and of course I always love to pass along any advice of things I have learned along the way! I rarely meet a fussy baby I cannot soothe….that is part of my job and I love it! I do encourage my clients to schedule the photography session within the first 14 days after birth. This is the best time for newborn portraits because as you will see they start to change so much after the first two weeks.
As with all of my sessions, I consult with parents prior to the session. I have suggestions on how to prepare for the session such as feeding the baby before I arrive, planning and coordinating outfits for family members, and discussing specific props or poses a client may want and making sure we use things that will work as portraits within their home.
I offer two options for newborn photography sessions – In home sessions and studio sessions in Charlotte, North Carolina or Fairfield, Connecticut. Which is right for you depends on what you are looking for. Parent and sibling images are included with either option and are encouraged!
NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY IN HOME SESSION
These infant photography sessions take place in your home. The portraits are more lifestyle than posed, although we do take the time to capture some posed moments. The in home infant session is ideal for those looking to capture the moments in the privacy of their home. I do suggest that you have good natural light in your home for the best outcome of the pictures. The in home sessions are done using natural light so the lighting in your home is important. The cost of an in home session is more then a studio session simply because it involves more time in travel and packing of the newborn props and equipment needed for a successful newborn photography session.

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY CHARLOTTE, NC OR FAIRFIELD, CT STUDIO SESSION
A studio newborn photography session takes place in the Charlotte, North Carolina or Fairfield, Connecticut-based photography studio. This is a nice option for someone looking for posed newborn portraits, props, solid backdrops, etc… The studio is kept very warm for the babies, dimly lit with comfy chairs for the parents and most of the time a nice fragrant candle will be lit! Some parents have been known to doze off as Karen works her magic on the baby!
Studio Session Fee: $200.00
Includes the time and talent of the photographer
Online gallery of 25+ pictures in color and B&W
