8 Months of Pure Happiness

I ask myself this every time a Baby Club member comes to the studio….”how can it be that they are back so quickly?”! It seems like just yesterday I did this little guy’s newborn session….and I must add he was the cutest newborn ever…and now he’s back here for his second Baby Club session!

I love when mom and dad both come into the studio for the fun! And this time mom had a super cute idea of capturing Baby A with his and her converse sneakers! On top of that I just could not get enough of the cute little man outfits….he is such a little man! I can just picture him when he is 20 years old!!!

Only a few weeks from now I will be welcoming this sweet family back into the studio for his First Birthday Session…the last one of the Baby Club. It will be great fun and I know I will be sad as always when it’s over but I am sure I will see them again!!! In the meantime I am looking forward to the BIG day!!!

Check out Baby A at 8 months old!

Book your Session!

I think 2016 is going to be a great year! I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the year then with this amazing in home newborn session. Baby S was a perfect angel from the moment I arrived! At three days old, she barely let out a peep!

I love when have first time parents who just seem so at ease, like they have been parent for years. That was the case for this beautiful couple with their newborn baby girl. Everything was simple and fun with lots of laughs throughout the session! And of course, with a beautiful home, light, baby, mom and dad and the end result is a collection of newborn pictures which will be treasured forever!

I am adding something new this year….video clips of my favorites from my sessions!

Hope you enjoy seeing the pictures and video as much as I enjoyed creating them!!

Best of 2015

It’s hard to believe another year has come to an end. The time just flies by too quickly. Before I start another year and think ahead to goals and resolutions I have to take some time to reflect on this past year.

The year 2015 was indeed a great year! It far exceeded my expectations for my business and none of that would be possible without each and every client who trusted and shared your family with me. Whether it was capturing the first days of a babies life or celebrating a graduating high school senior or simply wanting to document a moment in time for your family, I am truly blessed to have been the one chosen to carry out the job of photographing and documenting this time in your life.

I was fortunate this year to have many assistants who are aspiring photographers. It was a win/win for all of us. I was able to share with them what I have learned so far in my journey and in turn they were able to help take some of the work off my plate and allow me to photograph more families. It’s hard to believe, but I ended the year with 504 sessions. I remember every single one and the time I have spent with each client is special to me.

At the end of each year, I spend days pouring over session by session and pulling out some of the best moments and photographs from the year. I can honestly say there are many more then I can share!   But for now here they are…hope you enjoy as much as I do.

Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your time with me and choosing me to have the honor of photographing your family, babies, children and more. And if we did not yet have the chance to meet I would love to see you in 2016!

 All the best,

Tis’ the season for Dance Recitals!

I have loved seeing all the pictures on Facebook and Instagram these last few weeks as Dance Recitals are in full swing! There is nothing like being a parent, sitting in the audience and watching your child on stage dancing their heart out. No matter how many times I have watched my daughter dance I still get the excitement and butterflies in my stomach when she is on stage. I have a soft spot for dancers. It’s one of those activities I know can have an impact on a child’s life and how they carry themselves with confidence and poise.

On May 23, 2000 one of my favorite songs was released – “I Hope You Dance” by LeeAnn Womack. In case you can’t place it here just a few of my favorite lyrics:

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin’ might mean takin’ chances but they’re worth takin’,
Lovin’ might be a mistake but it’s worth makin’,
Don’t let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin’ out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance….I hope you dance.

Exactly one year to the day this song was released, I gave birth to my first child. It was a baby girl. I could hardly contain my excitement thinking of all the things I hoped she would do and become someday. One of those things I hoped for is that she would dance. Not that I wanted or expected her to be a great dancer but just that she would have the confidence to be on stage, and do her best with a smile on her face. Dancers don’t sit back and watch things happen – they “dance”.

I took dance classes when I was a little girl. I wasn’t a great dancer but I know that exposure at an early age gave me something that could never be replaced. It gave me the ability to stand up in front of others, to not be shy and to not be afraid to take a risk. I believe the experience of being on stage is what has allowed me to never fear speaking in public or getting up in front of a large crowd. You also won’t ever see me sitting on the sidelines at a wedding, party or anywhere there is music…you will find me on the dance floor. It may not be pretty, but I’m out there!

I have spent the last 2 years photographing the most amazing group of dancers from The Conservatory of Dance in Wilton, Connecticut. The more time I spend getting to know these girls and boys I see so much in them that I know is shaping them into fine young women and young men. Years from now, no matter which course they take in life I know the time they have spent  learning to dance, being on stage and gaining confidence in themselves will take them far in whatever they do.

I am excited to share with you some of the girls and boys I have photographed who have all chosen to “dance”. I wish them all the best and look forward to watching them dance through life!

What about you?
Do you “Dance”?

Watch out…here I GROW!

I get so excited when I have my babies coming in for their first Watch me Grow session around the age of 5 months! They change so much in those first few months. This little guy was so good at our Newborn shoot and I just had a feeling our 5 month shoot would be equally as great!

What a happy and content baby! At 5 months old he was already sitting up so we had so many different options for pictures! I love capturing all the big milestones at this session – sitting up, pushing up on belly, playing with feet and just lots of smiles and giggles!!

Baby O loved playing with his feet!   It is one of the best stages when they are constantly entertained by those 2 feet with 10 tiny toes!!! As the mother of children ages 13,10 and 6 I would do anything to go back to the days of them playing with their feet vs. an electronic in their hands at any given time!

Look out….here I GROW!!!!
